First Ten Days

Greetings everyone! Our first ten days have involved so many things. Lets see where to begin.
Well, for one thing, we had some technical difficulties which didnt let us update the  blog until now. So, sorry for all of you that have been patiently waiting to find out where we are and what we are doing.

Anyway, lets get down to it: First we took a flight from Madrid to Milan. The city of Fashion. We stayed for two nights and that was enough time for us to see all the beautiful and o-so-fashionable ones.

Next stop was Verona, Italy. A two hour train ride and quite a different change of scenery. Cobblestone streets, Roman ruins, churches towering over a river and, of course the famous balcony from ROMEO and JULIETTE. A romantic city and the two nights we stayed there we just enough.

From there we travelled to Venice. It was really amazing to step off the train and have the Gran Canal right there. Venice is beautiful but a maze of bridges and water and narrow streets and, more than anything millions of people. We were told that there is never an off month for tourism in Venice and that 30 million people visit the city each year. Tono and I both agree that it is a great city and it is a must see place. We spent 4 nights there and that takes us to today.

After a 13 hour train ride from Venice we are here in Budapest. We didnt have time to explore much of the city today because we spent some time to do laundry and update this post! So, more on Budapest later!

And last but certainly NOT least we have two travelling buddies with us that we would like to introduce to you. Our adopted children Bernard, from Spain, and Maurice, from Africa. Enjoy the pics!

PRIMEROS DIEZ DIAS

Hola a todos de nuevo. Como algunos de vosotros sabreis a traves del Facebook de Laura, hemos tenido algunos problemas tecnicos con la Blackberry. Mayormente, no funciona fuera de USA, asi que hemos comprado una tarjeta en Italia (que, obviamente, no funciona fuera de Italia). Pero bueno, ahora tenemos un pequeno ordenador, asi que podremos actualizar aqui nuestras andanzas, siempre que tengamos algun sitio al que conectarnos, claro.

Al grano y resumiendo. Vinimos a Milan via Madrid, donde estuvimos 3 dias conviviendo con la feria internacional de la moda, es decir, todo lleno y caro. La ciudad no tiene demasiadas cosas especiales, excepto el Duomo, que si es especial, y unas galerias comerciales junto al Duomo, que tambien son fantasticas.

Luego fuimos a Verona, una ciudad muy bonita, donde Romeo y Julieta...y un monton de calles estrechas con iglesias, torres, el arena (que es un coliseo romano de la epoca del de Roma, bastante bien conservado). Muy recomendable la ciudad, vaya.

Y de alli a Venecia, que esta llena de agua por todas partes. La impresion es estupenda, nada mas salir de la estacion de tren te encuentras directamente con el canal grande y un monton de gondolas, botes, taxis y autobuses, todos en el agua, claro. Muy bonita ciudad, y mas grande de lo que yo me imaginaba. Estuvimos 4 noches y recorrimos bastante de la ciudad. Imprescindible

Y esta manana hemos llegado a Budapest. No estaba en nuestros planes inicialmente, pero nos lo recomendaron en Italia y aqui estamos. Todavia no hemos tenido tiempo de ver casi nada, pero la primera impresion es bastante distinta que la de tuvimos al llegar a Venecia, por ejemplo. Pero ya os contaremos mas cosas.

A continuacion podeis ver unas fotos de los ultimos dias. Antes de nada, queriamos presentaros a nuestros companeros de viaje: Mauricio (una monada) y Bernardo (muy bravo). Hemos intimado tanto que ya los consideramos de la familia. De hecho los llamamos "nuestros ninos". Aqui los teneis.
